Upcoming Pipe Organ Recording of Thomas Murray playing Elgar: Severn Suite
A new recording of Thomas Murray, Yale University Organist, playing the Newberry Memorial Organ in Woolsey Hall will be released this Fall (JAV 193). With its 197 ranks and 12,617 pipes, it is among the largest pipe organs in the world, and is widely considered to be one of the finest as well. Thomas Murray, known for performances of orchestral transcriptions, plays his own transcription of Elgar’s Severn Suite on this recordings. Continue reading
